This project was created as a data-driven slot machine prototype in Unreal Engine.

The primary goal was not simply to build a slot machine, but to create a weighted reward system that can be balanced and modified without changing code. Symbol values, payout rates, and appearance frequencies are controlled through external data tables, allowing designers to adjust gameplay using spreadsheet tools such as Excel.

Through this project, I explored:

• Weighted probability systems • Data table implementation in Unreal Engine • Reward balancing and economy tuning • Drop-rate management and loot distribution concepts • Designer-friendly workflows that reduce engineering dependencies

While presented as a slot machine, the underlying systems are applicable to many genres. The same weighted data structures can be used for loot tables, enemy spawn rates, item rarity systems, reward chests, inventory distribution, and progression balancing.

This project serves as a demonstration of foundational game systems design, showing how data-driven tools can be used to create flexible and scalable gameplay systems while maintaining balance through iteration and testing.
